Despite adversity and hindrances, New Generation came forth during Pastor Darden’s 7th year in pastoral ministry.  New Generation was established on September 10, 1993 at the Armstrong Christian Student Union Building.  Eighty-eight members were in attendance.  God kept his cloud by day and pillar of fire by night, guiding our movement and ordering our steps.  Our official church service was held on September 12, 1993 at the West Broad St. Seventh Adventist Church.

Each year was marked by an awesome move of God. The Bible declares that if you are “faithful over a few things, He will make you ruler over many”. In accordance with the scripture, God exalted Pastor Darden to the position of State Overseer for the Southeast Coastal District for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship of Georgia and Director General of Music for the State of Georgia in 1995. The rapid growth required a larger facility, and as a result God blessed us to purchase a 16,600 square foot property, previously Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store located on38th and Bee Road.  God demonstrated, in the most dramatic way, that just as he supplied manna and quail in the days of old, “He would supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory.”

Pastor Darden & Sis. Darden led the way in striving to fulfill the vision God placed in them.  New Generation expanded in areas of the community, outreach, and becoming “A Church and Christian Education Facility for the Coastal Empire”.

Rev. Darden founded the New Generation Institute of Biblical Studies and Theological Seminary in January 2002 to better prepare persons for living, service, and ministry, in both church and society.  As a result 23 graduates obtained certificates or degrees from the institute in Baltimore, Maryland at the National Full Gospel Baptist Church Conference.

God has called New Generation to be “A Church and Christian Education Facility for  the Coastal Empire” that is compelled  to reach our surrounding area and beyond with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
